Just in case you didn’t know, Google’s new $449 pixel 5A with 5G was released yesterday. And guess what? The company has just released a two-minute video celebrating one of the features to look out for in the hardware. And it’s not the IP67 water and dust resistance nor the larger screen or the biggest battery yet to be seen on a pixel. What then is this feature?
Google Pixel 5A With 5G
This new feature is the headphone jack or the circle as this very Jony Ive-Esque spot constantly refers to it according to the verge. Trust me you have never seen a video ad like this one about a headphone jack. Google is really bringing the big guns out there with this YouTube ad.
If you have seen this ad already then you should know what it means. But if you haven’t seen this ad, here is what it is all about. The very ad uses footage of a space station docking to statement the ‘satisfying feeling of click’ you always get when you plug headphones into the latest phone by Google according to the verge.com
The Google Ad on the Headphone Jack
I have seen this video ad and my favorite part of this video is the part it delves right into the nitty-gritty of the headphone jack terminology. The company, Google, says that the pixel 5A is designed to welcome both the 1/8th-inch three poles TRS and the four-pole TRRS connections. It is so clear that even the video ad description is so on point.
“Calling this perfectly symmetrical, technological marvel, a ‘headphone jack’ may feel like an understatement…but technically, that’s what it’s called, so…fair enough. Behold! The headphone jack, on the pixel 5A with 5G.”
According to the video ad, the narrator depicts the Google pixel 5A’s headphone jack to be a glorious and major achievement that draws from our past as it propels us into the future. Taking a close look at the ‘future’ here as it only applies to the midrange pixel.
The pixel 6 and pixel 6 pro which are Google’s next flagship smartphones respectively will not have the circle. But this is something that has been absent in the top-tier pixel devices since the launch of Pixel 2.
